Medical Administrative Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a highly organized Medical Administrative Assistant to support healthcare providers and ensure smooth operations in a medical office. The role involves handling patient communications, managing appointments, and maintaining accurate records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule appointments for providers and patients, managing calendars efficiently.
• Facilitate communication between patients and providers, including message relay and follow‑up scheduling.
• Maintain up‑to‑date medical records, patient histories, treatment plans, and test results.
• Assist billing and coding teams by accurately entering procedure and diagnosis codes.
• Manage prescription refills, prior authorizations, and medication records.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and collaborate using online communication tools.
• Enter patient data into electronic health record (EHR) systems and organize documentation for easy retrieval.
• Verify insurance coverage, obtain pre‑authorizations, and resolve eligibility issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the healthcare industry.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work with minimal supervision.
• Customer‑service orientation and critical‑thinking skills.
