Mercaderista – Trade Marketing & Merchandising

About the role

The Mercaderista will promote company products across various distribution channels by conducting tastings, offering samples, and presenting special promotions. Working directly with customers at points of sale, the role aims to influence purchase decisions and increase brand visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Recommend products to customers, explaining benefits, features, storage, packaging, distribution and any contraindications.
• Execute merchandising activities in stores to stimulate sales and strengthen brand positioning.
• Carry out product demonstrations, tastings and free‑sample distribution using persuasive dialogue and brand scripts.
• Maintain proper appearance and use approved sales scripts during customer interactions.
• Collect market feedback through surveys, acceptance tests and internal marketing activities.
• Handle promotional materials and tasting equipment, and travel between retail locations as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma (Diversificado/Bachiller).
• 0–2 years of experience in similar merchandising or sales roles.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.

• Full‑time schedule: Tuesday‑Saturday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Sunday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.
