Movement Operations Associate – Beneficiary-Facing Activities

About the role

The Movement Operations Associate supports beneficiary‑facing activities within IOM’s movement operations, ensuring safe and orderly migration processes across various humanitarian initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate field support activities at airports, seaports, transit centres and other facilities to assist beneficiaries safely.
• Manage transportation logistics, including consolidation points and travel arrangements, while ensuring the comfort and security of vulnerable individuals.
• Provide food, essential items, and assistance to beneficiaries, adhering to IOM quality standards.
• Handle sensitive cases, such as unaccompanied children and at‑risk migrants, in line with IOM policies.
• Enter and update beneficiary data in relevant systems and report issues promptly.
• Offer interpretation and visa‑application support when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma with five years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with three years of experience.
• Prior experience in movement operations, transportation management, or resettlement programmes.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish (oral and written).
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Computer literacy and ability to work with movement‑operations databases.
