National Administrative, Procurement and Financial Support Assistant

About the role

The World Food Programme (WFP) is hiring a National Administrative, Procurement and Financial Support Assistant in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to support the administration, finance and procurement of a project in the Goascorán River basin. The post reports directly to the Project National Coordinator and generally to the National Policy and Programs Officer of the Development Unit, and covers accounting, financial control, procurement and logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Accounting and financial control: keep accounts current, reconciled and analysed, identify financial risks, and prepare internal and external financial reports.
• Develop and implement financial tools and standard procedures, evaluate suppliers and manage safe transfers to beneficiaries.
• Coordinate project logistics such as meetings, workshops and missions, and control the project inventory.
• Review agreements with implementing partners and maintain close contact with their administrative and technical staff.
• Monitor financial data, ensure funds are available for daily needs, coordinate cash flow and accompany internal and external audits.
• Implement internal controls for transparency and efficiency, and help prepare personnel action requests (contracts and amendments).
• Support the technical advisor on disbursement plans and provide financial and budgetary support to project staff and partners.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Administration, Accounting or related fields.
