Principal SQL Database Administrator (Remote, Latin America)

About the role

FullStack is seeking a Principal SQL Database Administrator to join its talent network and work on high‑impact projects for U.S. clients. The role is fully remote, serving Latin America while overlapping with Canadian business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments at enterprise scale (1,000+ databases).
• Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization of SQL Server instances.
• Develop and enforce database administration standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, including indexing, execution plans, waits, blocking, and locking.
• Collaborate with client designers and engineers on a daily basis, contributing to CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional database administration experience.
• Advanced English proficiency and a completed four‑year college degree.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale SQL Server environments and establish DBA processes.
• Consultative mindset with strong ownership and the capacity to work independently.
• Availability to work during Vancouver/Pacific or Toronto/Eastern business hours.
