Property Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to manage the financial operations of our diverse property portfolio. The role involves ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic decisions across the organization. This is an on‑site position based in San Pedro Sula.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Analyze property financial performance, identify trends and variances, and provide insights for strategic decisions.
• Present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with property managers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Assist in budget and forecast preparation, offering recommendations.
• Maintain internal controls and company policy compliance.
• Support external audits with required documentation and explanations.
• Prepare CAM reconciliations and distribution calculations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in property accounting or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
