Car Leader – Engineering Systems Management

About the role

The Car Leader will ensure the proper implementation of engineering systems across plants and programs, driving efficiency and compliance through effective administration of the engineering manual.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering changes while avoiding additional costs such as airfreight, line stoppages, material issues, OBS, and LeadPrep validations.
• Launch new production lines achieving efficiencies above 100% and installed capacity above 115%.
• Administer and close tooling/equipment purchase orders supporting prototypes, pilots, engineering changes, and production improvements.
• Distribute and implement best practices and lessons learned for each release or change.
• Maintain 100% compliance with prototype and pilot shipments for new programs or model years.
• Lead weekly multidisciplinary team meetings and support plants in problem identification and resolution.
• Participate in cost‑reduction and continuous‑improvement projects, ensuring all planning activities follow engineering change management controls.
• Guarantee full adherence to engineering department procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience at Lear Corporation in a Lead Methods or Lead Product role.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
