About the role

Heifer International Honduras is seeking a Health Specialist to lead the planning, implementation, and technical monitoring of the health and nutrition component of its rural development project in Mangulile, Olancho. The role focuses on improving maternal‑child health, nutrition, vaccination, and self‑care practices for families in the project area.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute technical actions related to health and nutrition, ensuring alignment with the project work plan, objectives and indicators.
• Facilitate access to health services for families and promote preventive health measures.
• Collaborate with the Ministry of Health, local health facilities, Family Health Teams, User Health Committees, Solidarity Tables and other community actors to strengthen inter‑institutional coordination.
• Monitor and report on project progress, outcomes and impact on maternal‑child health and nutrition.

Required profile

• Residency in Mangulile, Olancho is mandatory.
• Graduated in Nursing, Medicine, Nutrition, Public Health, Health Promotion or a related field.
• Complementary training in community health, primary health care, maternal‑child nutrition, violence prevention or social project management is desirable.
• Minimum three (3) years of professional experience implementing health, nutrition or primary health care projects, preferably in rural settings and in coordination with health authorities.
