Senior Software Engineer – Control Plane & Orchestration (Remote, Latin America)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our client’s team remotely in Latin America. The role focuses on building and operating control‑plane and orchestration components for large‑scale, cloud‑native platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement large‑scale distributed systems and platform APIs used by multiple engineering teams.
• Develop reliable, versioned RESTful APIs with strong emphasis on idempotency and consistency.
• Build event‑driven and message‑driven architectures, including asynchronous workflows and distributed coordination.
• Architect highly available backend services and storage solutions (object, file, block, container).
• Develop, deploy, and operate Kubernetes‑based solutions, including Operators, Controllers, CRDs, and multi‑tenant environments.
• Implement observability (metrics, logging, tracing, monitoring) and collaborate closely with Site Reliability Engineering teams.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices to manage air‑gapped or regulated Kubernetes clusters.
• Contribute to internal developer platforms, service‑mesh integrations, and multi‑cluster deployments.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, specifically with control‑plane and orchestration.
• Advanced English proficiency and a completed four‑year college degree.
• Proven track record designing large‑scale distributed systems and platform APIs.
• Strong background in RESTful API design, event‑driven architectures, and high‑availability services.
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes, including Operators, Controllers, CRDs, and multi‑tenant management.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud‑native deployments, storage technologies, observability, IaC, and GitOps.
• Familiarity with air‑gapped, regulated environments and networking concepts such as service meshes and proxy architectures.
