UH‑60 Aircraft Mechanic II – Aviation Maintenance

About the role

The UH‑60 Aircraft Mechanic II is responsible for performing avionics, electrical, hydraulic and structural maintenance on rotary‑wing aircraft. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, modifying and inspecting aircraft systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Execute avionics and electrical maintenance tasks, including wiring repairs and system testing.
• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures such as wings, fuselage, rigging, and hydraulic units using hand and power tools.
• Conduct scheduled inspections (100‑hour, phase, calendar) and diagnose engine issues on both reciprocating and jet engines.
• Use testing equipment (ignition analyzer, compression checker, ammeter, Jetcal tester) to locate malfunctions.
• Remove, disassemble, inspect, repair or replace engine components and re‑install engines using hoists or forklifts.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and verify work quality.
• Supervise aircraft jacking and towing operations as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid, up‑to‑date A&P license.
• Minimum two (2) years of aviation maintenance experience.
• At least three (3) years of rotary‑wing aircraft experience.
• May require FAA licensing.

Required skills

• Aircraft structural repair (sheet metal, welding, riveting).
• Hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance.
• Avionics and electrical wiring troubleshooting.
• Engine inspection and testing (ignition analyzer, compression checker, ammeter, Jetcal).
• Use of hand tools, power tools, shears, sheet‑metal brake, rivet gun, drills.
• Interpretation of maintenance manuals, service bulletins and technical data.
