Child Protection Officer (Emergencies) – 10‑month contract

About the role

UNICEF Honduras is seeking a national Child Protection Officer in Emergencies to provide technical, operational and administrative assistance for child protection programmes in humanitarian contexts. The role supports programme development, implementation and coordination across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development, planning and management for child protection projects in emergency settings.
• Monitor programme delivery, ensure results are achieved and provide technical guidance to implementation teams.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government counterparts, NGOs and humanitarian partners.
• Contribute to innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building activities.
• Coordinate the Child Protection Area of Responsibility and ensure effective collaboration among stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law or a related social science.
• Minimum of one year professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection.
• Ability to conduct research, analyse information and support evidence‑based programme decisions.
• Experience coordinating with government, NGOs and humanitarian actors.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish.
