About the role

As a Dispatcher working the afternoon shift, you will coordinate and optimise delivery schedules, communicate important messages to mobile units, and monitor routes using mapping software. You will keep track of driver locations and ensure timely, safe deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in dispatching pending loads and schedule drivers for pickups and deliveries.
• Coordinate and modify daily routes to meet customer needs.
• Manage daily routes, communicating specific freight requirements to drivers.
• Monitor sudden route changes, road construction, and establish new routes for timely deliveries.
• Participate in problem resolution with team members and other departments.
• Provide drivers with routing directions and ensure proper execution.
• Maintain high compliance with dispatch standards and operating procedures.
• Update customer web portals with current load information.
• Pull load forecasts from the system and update drop‑and‑hook events.
• Enforce safety procedures by monitoring driver reports and equipment safety.
• Analyze transportation planning opportunities to reduce costs.
• Ensure proper placement of trailer pools to support daily customer requirements while controlling costs.

Required profile

• College diploma or university degree.
• Previous logistics and customer service experience is an asset.
• At least 2 years of experience in customer service roles.
• Ability to solve problems, alleviate conflicts, and escalate issues tactfully.
• Strong time‑management skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
