HR Generalist - Performance & Development

About the role

Charger Logistics, an asset-based carrier with locations across North America and over 20 years of logistics experience, is expanding and is looking for a motivated and experienced HR Generalist to join its San Pedro Sula office. The role covers performance management, compensation, engagement surveys, policy administration and employee relations.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in functional and cross-functional initiatives such as performance management, compensation, engagement surveys and the performance review cycle.
• Advise department heads on employment matters, including company policies, performance management, terminations, training and development and benefits.
• Help design long-term reward and retention strategies to motivate employees.
• Manage HR policies, procedures and programs under federal/provincial legislation, health and safety and internal rules.
• Handle employee inquiries, escalate and resolve requests within team mandates.
• Develop and coordinate onboarding, collect payroll information, run probation reviews and keep employee data accurate in the HRIS, coordinating with payroll.
• Work with supervisors on fair and consistent discipline, and conduct workplace investigations of grievances, complaints and incidents.
• Run joint health and safety meetings, keep minutes, coordinate monthly inspections, lead evacuation drills and follow up on health and safety issues.

Required profile

• Human resources degree or equivalent, with full practical experience in all HR functions.
• Proven experience as an HR advisor and HR Generalist, 1-2 years.
• Solid knowledge of labour laws, employment standards, regulations and the collective agreement.
• Self-starter, organized, detail-oriented and able to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and tact.
• Excellent communication and people management skills, good teamwork.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
