Human Rights Advisor - Renewable Energy

About the role

The Human Rights Advisor will support the Asociación Hondureña de Energía Renovable in designing and implementing a Human Rights Policy for renewable energy companies across Honduras. This volunteer position focuses on integrating human rights principles into corporate practices and fostering inclusive consultation processes.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate free, prior and informed consultation (CPLI) workshops with private sector, government, and indigenous communities and produce detailed reports.
• Develop proposals to embed CPLI into Honduras' environmental impact assessment, creating best‑practice guidance and policy recommendations.

Required profile

• University degree in International Development, Environmental Sciences, Social Justice or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience designing and executing social‑energy projects and 2 years in monitoring and evaluation.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in team environments and facilitate multi‑stakeholder workshops.
