Principal Backend Engineer (Python) – Remote Work

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Backend Engineer with deep Python expertise to lead the design and implementation of our serverless backend platforms. In this hands‑on leadership role you will own end‑to‑end feature delivery and shape the architecture that supports millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build backend architecture on AWS serverless infrastructure (Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, API Gateway).
• Own complete features from design through deployment, including API design for web and mobile applications.
• Develop microservices and event‑driven systems that scale with demand.
• Define and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code practices using CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to shape the technical roadmap.

Required profile

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience with strong Python proficiency.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS serverless services and event‑driven architectures.
• Background working with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB at scale.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
