Class A Driver – Commercial Truck Operator

About the role

The Class A Driver is responsible for safely transporting freight to customers, distribution centers, and other designated locations. This role requires operating commercial motor vehicles, completing inspections, securing cargo, and delivering professional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Operate Class A tractor‑trailers safely on assigned routes and schedules.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
• Load, secure, and protect cargo during transit.
• Maintain accurate electronic or written logs, bills of lading, and inspection reports.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding routes, delays, and vehicle issues.
• Maneuver vehicles at loading docks, yards, and customer sites.
• Report accidents, violations, mechanical problems, and unsafe conditions promptly.
• Assist with loading and unloading freight when required.

Required profile

• Valid CDL Class A license with an acceptable driving record.
• Current DOT medical certification.
• LTL/City driving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours‑of‑service, and transportation compliance.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime, extended hours, and flexible schedules.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
