Dispatch Specialist

About the role

The Dispatch Specialist coordinates transportation services for customers across the United States and Canada. This role ensures that escort services, route surveys, and over‑dimensional shipments are scheduled, dispatched, and completed safely, accurately, and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, respond to, and prepare client work orders via email, phone, or web within 30 minutes.
• Plan, schedule, dispatch, and coordinate pilot escorts, negotiate rates, and arrange route surveys in compliance with Canadian provincial and U.S. state regulations.
• Continuously follow up on open orders to coordinate services and schedules for every stage of the customer’s order.
• Communicate proactively with customers and supervising personnel, keeping them informed and resolving problems.
• Monitor evolving situations, adapt plans, and provide information, advice, and support to customers and vendors.
• Maintain up‑to‑date order information, including notes, rates, and required details.
• Enter and request updated vendor credentials to ensure regulatory conformity.
• Assist management with daily responsibilities and special projects as needed.

Required profile

• Experience in dispatch or logistics coordination.
• Knowledge of Canadian provincial and U.S. state transportation regulations.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and vendors.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and solve problems quickly.
