Logistics Coordinator - Weekend Shift

About the role

Charger Logistics, an asset-based carrier offering dedicated loads, specialized hauls, temperature-controlled goods and HAZMAT cargo, is expanding and looking for a motivated Logistics Coordinator based in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The role focuses on coordinating and optimizing delivery schedules by communicating with mobile units, monitoring situations by phone or radio, using mapping software to find the best routes and tracking the locations of mobile units. English fluency is a must.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in dispatching pending loads and scheduling and dispatching drivers to pick up and deliver loads to and from customers.
• Coordinate and modify daily routes to meet customer needs, and communicate freight requirements and procedures to drivers.
• Monitor sudden route changes or road construction issues and set up new routes for timely deliveries.
• Take part in problem resolution with team members and other departments, and help drivers with routing directions.
• Maintain compliance with dispatch standards and operating procedures, and enforce safety procedures such as monitoring driver reports for equipment safety.
• Update customer web portals with up-to-date load information and pull load forecasts from the system, updating drop and hook events.
• Analyze transportation planning opportunities to reduce costs and ensure the trailer pool is placed correctly to meet customer demand.

Required profile

• College diploma or degree.
• 3 years of experience in logistics or transportation is ideal.
• 2 years of experience in customer service roles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good time management, prioritization and multitasking abilities.

Required skills

• Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
• English fluency.
